The Paralegal Association of Wisconsin is pleased to announce
a $550 scholarship for the Spring 2027 semester.
All supporting materials must be received no later than 5:00 p.m. on Monday, December 14, 2026. Submissions should be sent to admin@wisconsinparalegals.com. The recipient will be selected no later than Friday, December 18, 2026. The scholarship check will be issued upon receipt of the student’s proof of enrollment for the upcoming semester.
OLR - Lunch and Learn with JB Burtch - Oct. 27th at NOON
Jack W. Burtch, Jr. ("JB") is a lawyer who has practiced labor and employment law in large, medium-sized and small firms since 1973. Since 1994, he has been an Adjunct Professor of Law at the University of Richmond School of Law, teaching Negotiations and Client Counseling.JB will join OLR to discuss insights from his new book, "Raising the Bar: The Mentor Guidebook for New Lawyers", including why mentoring matters, the benefits of mentoring for both mentor and mentee, and practical tips for effective mentoring.

OLR Ethics School 2026
Sessions are held live in-person. Approved for 4.0 EPR.
Ethics School 2026 will discuss the Rules of Professional Conduct for Attorneys relating to OLR procedures and Wisconsin SCR Chapter 22, connections between communication rules and other ethical obligations, and an overview of the year’s hot topics, sanctions and precedent.

The annual trust account update for 2026 will cover trust account basics, payment fraud and fraud prevention, record keeping and account closing, and 2026 hot topics including flat fees, restitution of unearned fees, billing implications related to AI usage, and scams targeting lawyers.
