FREE Well-Being Lunch and Learn - "We're Human, Too! Acknowledging and Managing Trauma So We Can Serve Our Clients and Stay Healthy"

February 25, 2026 - 12PM to 1PM live online via Zoom

Objectives:  Miriam Falk began as an Assistant Attorney General for Wisconsin in the Training & Standards Bureau in August 2014. She is the State Violence Against Women Resource Prosecutor and Law Enforcement Trainer for sexual assault and domestic violence. Ms. Falk's presentation will identify what trauma is and how it impacts clients, help attendees develop tools to facilitate quality interviews of traumatized clients, define vicarious trauma and help to develop an understanding of its impact on professionals working with traumatized individuals, and provide techniques on managing the impact of vicarious trauma on both individual and organizational levels.

FREE Well-Being Lunch and Learn - "Strategies for Managing the Mania"

March 20, 2026 - 12PM to 1PM live online via Zoom

Objectives:  Attorney Joseph Bugni will discuss strategies for managing stress and anxiety in busy legal environments. Bugni is an attorney at Hurley Burish, focusing on trial and appellate litigation in both civil and criminal matters. He previously spent thirteen years with the Federal Defender’s Office where he handled over 600 federal cases and over 60 appeals.

    CHANGE TO SBWCPTM RENEWAL REQUIREMENTS

    The total number of continuing legal education (CLE) credits required has increased from 12 to 15 (including 3 ethics and professional responsibility (EPR) credits).

    State Bar of Wisconsin Certified Paralegal (SBWCP) certifications up for renewal on July 1, 2024, will require 15 CLE credits (included 3 ethics credits) by that date. Please see the Recertification Process page for additional information.
