Annual Conference Postponed

As many of you know, each year in early May the Paralegal Association of Wisconsin has sponsored an annual conference including a 6 credit CLE seminar.  The annual seminar rotates among our Milwaukee, Madison, Fox Valley, La Crosse, and Wausau Chapters. This year the seminar was scheduled to be held in Milwaukee on May 1. We held off sending out the registration materials to monitor the rapidly changing information on COVID-19.   The Board has made the difficult decision to postpone the event for the safety of the conference attendees.

The CDC a few days ago updated their guidelines and recommended that for the next 8 weeks in-person events should consist of 50 or less people.  Governor Evers declared a Public Health Emergency on March 12, and today he directed the Department of Health Services (DHS) to issue an agency order prohibiting mass gatherings of 50 people or more statewide to mitigate the spread of COVID-19 with no concrete timeframe.  The Trump Administration announced a few hours ago that they are recommending avoiding gatherings of more than 10 people be avoided for the next 15 days.

Therefore, our annual conference has been rescheduled for Friday, September 18, at the Sheraton Milwaukee Brookfield Hotel.  We do apologize for the inconvenience and hope that you are able to attend our annual conference. We plan to send out registration materials mid to late June.

We wish everyone safety and good health.
