WCPE Exemption - Associate and Student Members:

Associate and Student members are not required to provide evidence of CLE Credits.

WCPE REPORTING: (Active Voting Memberships Only)

ACTIVE VOTING Membership requires completion of (5) five hours of qualified continuing paralegal education,  per membership year, one (1) hour of which must be in Ethics. Filing and attendance must be completed by December 31st of the preceding membership year. Filing is effective on date received by the Paralegal Association of Wisconsin

INSTRUCTIONS FOR FILING

List all approved courses attended or taught. Verify subtotals in the Credit Summary.

ATTENDANCE AT CHAPTER MEETINGS & SEMINARS (Active Voting Memberships Only)

  • Identify courses completely and accurately to avoid auditing delays.
  • Do not include any course prior to actual attendance.
  • Round hours down to the nearest half or whole hour.
  • List only courses that have been approved by the Continuing Legal Education Committee. *

*NOTE: Requests for approval of credits, that are not prequalified, are handled by the Continuing Legal Education committee. Each request for approval is considered on a case-by-case basis and must be submitted, along with supporting documentation, within 45 days of the completion of the credits or by attaching supporting documentation to this form. (Mandatory WCPE program governed by duly adopted bylaws)

You must include the sponsor, course title, date, location, and hours attended.

TEACHING (Active Voting Memberships Only)

TEACHING CREDIT: Active voting members teaching or participating in an approved activity shall receive one (1) credit for each 60 minutes spent in attendance at and teaching in a presentation of such activity, and one (1) credit for each 60 minutes spent in preparation time, provided that in no event shall more than four (4) hours of credit be awarded for the preparation of one (1) hour or less of actual presentation. Paralegals who also attended a portion of the course may claim attendance credit for those hours in the "Attendance" portion of the form.

NOTE: Carryover of hours will only be allowed on approved courses that are timely filed. *Exemptions and waivers do not generate carryover.
